Who We Are

LusoCan is the trade desk for Portuguese exports into Canada. Working from offices in Lisbon and Toronto — and through an affiliated Canadian corporation that acts as importer of record when required — LusoCan represents Portuguese building material manufacturers in the Canadian market, handling outreach, technical documentation, customs & logistics coordination and account management on both sides of the Atlantic.

The dual presence is operational, not symbolic. The Toronto office handles outreach, Canadian commercial work, and account management. The Lisbon office handles direct manufacturer engagement, factory visits, and Portuguese-side trade coordination. LusoCan’s bilingual capability across English and French Canadian markets covers the full Canadian commercial landscape.

LusoCan was founded by Adam Piett, a Canadian–Portuguese dual citizen who splits time between Toronto and Lisbon. Adam is the founder of ELU Saunas & Cold Tubs, a Canadian business that designs and supplies saunas and cold tubs for residential and commercial wellness projects. Earlier, he worked as an industrial real estate broker in the Greater Toronto Area, building a network of relationships across construction, development and design that LusoCan now puts to work for Portuguese manufacturers. 

Our Mission

Canada has emerged as a significant opportunity for Portuguese building material manufacturers. Premium materials are increasingly specified across Canadian residential, commercial and institutional projects. Canadian distributors, fabricators and design firms are actively seeking new European sources to complement existing options.

Under the Canada–EU Trade Agreement, Portuguese materials enter Canada at 0% duty, opening the market on commercially competitive terms. The opportunity is real. What it requires is operational presence: — Canadian sales work, submittal coordination, customs handling, account management — running consistently in the Canadian market. LusoCan was built to provide that operational presence.
